UFO's There has been UFO's seen way back into the Bible. An I believe that some how there is a link between Roswell NM, WrightPat Airforce base in Ohio also Area 51 Nevada. From the state I'm living in it's a hot bed of UFO sighting way back into the 1950's. Since the late 50's, early 60's There was a Project that came out Wright Pat AF. Called Blue Book. All that was, Was the Air force documentoring sightings that people reported to the authorities. And they ended it in the early 70's.
To Fellow Forum people: What's your take on this subject?

Honestly? Comic relief.
Though I have no doubts that there IS life elsewhere in the universe, I think it's only mankind's pompous self-righteousness that causes them to think that we (humans) are important enough for extra-terrestrials to *monitor*.
I also think it's absolutely hilarious how everything that is denied is automatically called *a conspiracy* or *a cover-up*. And that, in turn, is used as *proof* (in the debate) of the existence of alien visitors/spacecraft.
I just find the controversy and ensuing debate funny.
It's ESPECIALLY funny when you realize that people are arguing over BELIEF in something that is not empirically proven. It reminds me of the disclaimer from Dragnet; *the names have been changed to protect the innocent*
Replace the word *UFO* with the any of the following words: God, Santa Claus, Bigfoot, Magic(k) - the irony is palpable.

I think you're closer to the point than you realize, Chain.
You make a very good, and valid, point in saying that any intelligent and sufficiently advanced alien race would have no reason to do anything with us. I happen to agree with that. Now brace yourself, 'cause I'm about to say something crazy.
I think the UFO phenomenon is essentially a symptom of something we don't really understand. Given the similarity of sightings (round, flat, ovoid craft), the dissimilarity of the experiences (people like us, people unlike us, big-eyed creatures, bugs, robots, etc), and the documented reality of some few experiences (radiation burns, unexplained sickness), I think we're looking at some kind of 'natural' phenomenon that manifests itself to us in ways we don't understand.
To the best of our knowledge, we're the only species we know of with imagination, and that makes us prey to a lot of problems other creatures don't exhibit. Knowing as we do how plants, minerals, and gases have various psychotropic effects, it's not too much of a jump to assume there's some unknown factor in the atmosphere that causes the UFO experiences so many people have reported.
At least, that's the safe (and sane) answer. The unsafe (and, yes, unsane) answer would be: Something from Outside is interacting with us. I don't mean outer space, or outside of our solar system, but Outside, as in 'Outside the bounds of space-time'. I'm not by any means convinced that such a thing is happening, but I'm not UNconvinced either. I think there are many strange things out there, and I think H. P. Lovecraft was right when he said that we are a tiny light of sanity amidst an ocean of darkness and uncertainty. The unknown is scary stuff.
Hmm. Who left this soapbox here?

Okay, where's the *crazy* part, there Vain? LOL
All I know... is all I know. I can't say these things do exist and I certainly can't say the DON'T exist. And rather than take sides trying to argue which side (or which explanation) has more credence, I just laugh.
Oh, and sorry about the soapbox... I think the maid is on vacation. I kinda kicked it out of my way, when I came in.

Sorry about the soapbox. I keep forgetting where I put it.
As for my take on UFO's:
I believe life exists in the universe beyond this planet. That is about it. I'm still out on the whole "we are being visited" part.

The UFO is nice, but I still dig the little bat in your icon.

hehehe I stumbled on the UFO image while I was looking for some birthday and urinating smilies.
The bat just seemed more appropriate for the circumstances
