What genre are they? Why do you like them? :)

Pretty much most anything. I have even found some rap music to be great. I guess the only stuff I tend to avoid due to lack of good coming through all the bad is gansta rap, shouting/screaming stuff, old old school country, and champagne music(big band).
I question...Therefore I think...I think...Therefore I am...I think? |

| Yeah, pretty much the same here. As long as I can understand it, I probably listen to something from the genre. |

My favorite bands would have to be Godsmack and Disturbed. They get the creative juices flowing.

Almost anything that hits creative nerves, though there are only a few albums I've come up against that I can listen to EVERYTHING on without feeling tempted to skip a song or two. Led Zeppelin IV, 10,000 Days by Tool, Superunknown by Soundgarden, and Dead Cities by Future Sound of London come to mind. Mainly, though, what makes a piece of music or album appeal to me is the sense of place and story it creates when you listen to it. Not necessarily a lyric-based story (Toccatta and Fugue by Bach tells a VERY distinct and dark story, for instance), but any sense of form or place. Music has power, and when an artist is good, you can feel it.

That is what I'm talking about! Music moves people regardless of type or singer. I mean as long as it sounds good to you does it really matter what genre or why we like them?

| I listen to all sorts of music, mainly Gothic Metal, Classical, Meatloaf, Queen, and a few others thrown in for good measure. I rarely if ever listen to General Pop, Rap or Hip-hop. |

Define music. Birds singing?
I listen to MANY different genres. From country (AND western) to acid rock to classical to folk to classic rock.
Pretty much the only two things I don't listen to are; rap (including hip-hop) and opera. But there ARE exceptions. Sort of like, I'll listen to punk rock, but not the Sex Pistols.
The real deal to me is collecting. I have a HUGE album and 45rpm (and CD) collection, a moderate sized 8-track collection and innumerable cassette tapes. If you look at the collection and the respective release dates: anything rock, from 1966 to 1985, are big on my list of *must haves*. |
