The vice president should be the emperor. Then if he tries to control the government or kills someone, at least he wont lie about it.

Rather odd comment. So I take it you think Bush lies and Cheney is honest. HHMMMMM

All politicians and govt officials are stuck inbetween a rock and a hard spot when letting out any info. First, they get info from many sources. So when someone later says, "I told (place name here) that was going to happen", he may have. But many others told him differently and he went with majority, or best sources, most reliable sources, his total accessment of all info, maybe even a hunch or feeling in his stomach. As they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Jade, that's true, but bluerose might be more referring to dishonesty on an overall scale, such as appearing to be concerned about human rights and then passing a bill allowing for unchecked, indefinite jailing and torture of anyone the government doesn't like.

Although, Bluerose, I also disagree about the Emperor. He was really shady for a long time before going all "UNLIMITED POOOWWER!" on everyone.

...dabbling all the way down...

I think you all give little old Bush way too much credit. Much more goes into all those decisions and actions than just Bush's wishes. Even as far as the combatants issues. Tell me how you would do it. Remember, some of the wordage given in the geneva convention rules(which are meant for prisoners, not enemy combatants) would be real fun to bring into an American court. Such as discomfort, offending, humiliating, etc. Think about it. Hopefully you don't think we should just cut those wackos loose and send them back to Afganistan where we found them. Which, I'm unsure we can do since many are not Afganis. And some of the home countries they came from want to hold them and torture them(really torture, not put ladies panties over their heads). This is much too complicated to just say follow this vague outdated rule or some other idea. It will take much debate and discussions to try to get it as workable as possible. Then is will still have faults. But it is not "BUSH", it is all the powers that be(including the Dems) that are working on these things. Don't believe the political season hype, that is where the true lies are flowing. Sadly it is legal lieing as per our political laws.

God bless,
JADE

Im a white, young male...I am in no way bias here..except maybe that i am a MAN and not a woman. However ladies your equal rights ship has sailed...get in line behind the Gays, African Americans and Mexicans for that spot. If anyone deserves it more as of now...it's the African Americans..hah Id personally like to see a Lesbian, Black/Mexican, FEMALE president...just to watch the Hillbillys Cowboys and Rednecks go Wild(Which also happens to be my family background haha)

I agree. It's time this country realizes that there are others out there aside from the white male. But I did like Clinton no mater the scandals
