I have an idea. The government wants soldiers to send overseas but we seem to be lacking in recruits these days. How about we take everyone that gets sent to prison over. Then they would have enough people to fight and we would empty our already full prisons. Two birds with one stone.

Even people that like to fight like mercenaries don't do well in the long run. But our military that voluntarily joins out of patriotism and/or love of country do quite well. Now the ones that join just for the benefits sometimes fail when things get tough.
But just dumping our bad guys on the battle fields still sound pretty good. LOL Until they turn on us and join with the other idiots.

Mm. And how would you determine which criminals were to go? What crimes make you deserving of it? What length of sentencing? People who smoke marijuana can often recieve longer sentences than rapists and child molesters. Do they deserve to be forced into soldiery for it?
I see what you are getting at, but I think the essential idea is flawed, and would probably lead to even more inhumane and cruel behavior on both sides.
If history teaches us anything, it teaches us that armies made up of people who are forced to fight never do well.

Great Idea. They would get along great over there also. Although our criminal don't hold a candle to the goofballs over there.
