The end times have been coming since Jesus died on the cross.
As Jesus said, no one knows the exact hour, the exact day, that it's all over.
We get closer every day.
Hey JAM, this comment always reminds me of an earth shaking comment my 6th grade teacher told us in class. He said, "from the day you were born, you have been dying". Now whether or not that was appropriate to tell a 6th grade class, it was true mathmatically.
That theory holds true for end times too. Of course the end times are getting closer every day(unless of course God gives us an extention for good behavior. NOT ) But will we ever be able to figure out when it is? NO
We can't even tell when exactly we are going to brush our teeth at night and we have control over that. (maybe Monk could come close to figuring out exactly when he is going to brush his teeth. LOL)
Anyway, I'm not loosing any sleep over it, it will come when it comes. And I'll leave it to Hollywood to make guesses as to when.
God bless, JADE

Posted - September 03 2006 : 10:16:25 PM That question shouldn't start any fights, but it will sure draw a multitude of opinions. Thats about like asking what the meaning of life is? I personally don't know and really don't care. There is nothing we can do about it if it has or hasn't began. I am a firm believer in that when God says not to waste time guessing and such that when he comes he comes and no one will ever know when, he meant it. So I live life like there is no tomorrow(and that doesn't mean I party all the time) LOL. It just means that when God comes to take me, I want to be as ready as humanly possible and pray that he is pleased with how I lived my life.

Technically, one. But in all actuality, dozens. link
For a basic difference on Old versus New Testaments, the Old Testament is pre-Jesus whereas the New Testament is about or after Jesus.
As for the *many* different bibles, they are different translations, different languages, different opinions on [specific] meanings and different demographics. They are all still telling the same story and possess the same basic content, even though they may be worded somewhat differently. That is, with a couple of exceptions.
I own a Mormon Bible (for instance) that doesn't reflect KJV's (King James Version) content, by any stretch, though both books are from a *Christian* faith. I also know that many folks view the KJV as antiquated or some such *less than official* standard, but again that's about wording more than content.
And that's just talking about the *Bible*.
Really, there's as many differences in the different sects of Christianity as there are in the traditions Paganism. But at least the Christians all start with (or follow, whatever ) the same basic book. |

Posted - September 01 2006 : 8:39:13 PM Christian scriptures actually. I know of the Old Testament, New Testament (by the way what is the difference?) King James... but I'm not sure if there are more than that.

Posted - August 29 2006 : 12:43:19 PM As you can see FA, we humans can disagree on most anything. LOL But the Word of God can still be perfect while we humans muddle up the intent and true meanings.

Posted - August 29 2006 : 05:24:47 AM Are you asking "How many translations of the Hebrew and Greek are there?" OR "How many differing books of scripture are there?"
